To help us gain a deeper understanding of Luke’s Executive Coaching experience, we asked him a series of questions.

Here are his responses…

What is the greatest ROI for this investment you made in yourself?
How much more authentic I feel -- everything at work (and home!) Just feels slightly easier, since I am able to show up authentically more. There are still lots of changes, challenges, and opportunities but how I feel about navigating through them for my family, the people around me, and myself -- it just feels so much more true to who I want to me, and the impact I want to have on those people I interact with.

How has your coaching experience impacted your approach to leadership?
My work with my coach has inspired me to reimagine how I engage as an engineering leader -- still technical, but with more clarity about how to merge technical competence with the ability to authentically navigate interpersonal and business challenges. I am a better, more effective leader and am more capable of fostering an environment where others can be at their best and deliver for the business.

In what ways did your coaching experience contribute to your personal growth, both professionally and personally?
Coaching has been extremely beneficial to me personally - I am better able to identify and handle the anxiety and stress that comes with leading, and I am able to show up at home more frequently the way I want to for my family and myself.

What would you say to someone considering executive coaching? Why might it be worth pursing?
Like so many impactful things in our lives - you get out of coaching what you put into it. If you want to be challenged and grow into a better version of yourself -- coaching can be a huge contributor to that; but it is hard, deeply personal, and never-ending work. It's not easy, but if you are excited for the journey, not just the outcome - it is extremely fulfilling.
