Here are his responses…
What did the coaching experience mean to you in terms of your journey as a leader?
The leadership coaching experience meant a lot to me. The approach Bloombase uses is different from anything I had encountered before. It focused on self-reflection, allowing me to learn more about myself. I explored my triggers and their underlying causes, realizing that these reasons aren't necessarily negative. This increased awareness has empowered me to use this understanding for further growth. As a result, I've become more curious about myself and, most importantly, about others.
What is the greatest ROI for this investment you made in yourself?
The greatest ROI from this investment in myself has definitely been the insight I've gained about how I show up, compared to how I feel I show up. Understanding my areas for improvement, while also focusing equally on my strengths, has allowed me to excel. This balanced approach not only enhances my own development but also enables me to effectively nurture the growth of future leaders.
How has your coaching experience impacted your approach to leadership?
My coaching experience has profoundly impacted my approach to leadership by emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and authentic presence. I've learned to recognize my triggers and how they influence my interactions, which has helped me lead with greater empathy and understanding. Focusing on both my areas for improvement and my strengths has allowed me to create a more balanced and effective leadership style. I now prioritize fostering open communication and encouraging curiosity, not just in myself but also in my team, which has strengthened our collaboration and overall effectiveness. Additionally, I've come to appreciate the diversity of leadership styles, recognizing that different approaches can bring out the best in various team members.
Describe your coaching experience. What did it look like? What was your relationship with your coach like? How did the sessions go?
My coaching experience was characterized by constructive dialogue focused on the goals I wanted to achieve. Through our sessions, I had the opportunity to learn more about myself, which was incredibly valuable. My coach helped me explore areas where I had previously doubted myself, guiding me toward a deeper understanding of those challenges.
There were moments when my coach pushed me to be more curious and encouraged me not to settle for my initial reactions to uncomfortable questions. This approach, always rooted in positive intent, helped me grow and expand my perspective. Overall, the relationship was collaborative and supportive, allowing me to delve into my personal development in a meaningful way.
In what ways did your coaching experience contribute to your personal growth, both professionally and personally?
My coaching experience significantly contributed to my personal growth, both professionally and personally. The most impactful learning for me was the importance of equally focusing on my strengths and areas for improvement without judging the aspects where I may lack. This shift has boosted my confidence and allowed me to trust my team members more deeply. With this trust, I've been able to enhance my strategic focus and planning.
On a personal level, the coaching helped me better understand and navigate my journey as a parent and husband. Gaining insight into my family's drivers has enabled me to be a better resource for them, fostering stronger relationships and support within my family.
