AWL Alumni Spotlight

Tanya Vogel

“I continue to think about how to build self-reflection into my routine because in these moments of reflection, I am learning so much about what is driving me, what's holding me back, what excites me, what terrifies me. The slowing down allows me to speed up in a thoughtful, intentional and inspired way that positively impacts my people!”

We asked Tanya a series of questions to get to know her better.

Here are her responses…

Describe the six months you spent in the Bloombase experience for Advanced Women Leaders.
AWL came at such an interesting point in my life as I was making a transition from a traditional workplace to my new world of self-employment coaching and consulting. The facilitators and my incredible cohort were so inspiring to me and supportive of my journey of reflection, ambition, discovery and adventure!

Describe the benefits of the AWL experience.
I absolutely love the curriculum of the AWL experience. From Me Mastery through We Mastery, the journey does a thorough and thoughtful discovery of self and then allows this self-discovery to move into a understanding of others and the complexities of the organizations and communities that we live in and how we can best show up for others while owning our energy, impact and influence.

What did you walk away with from AWL and what are you continuing to learn about yourself?
I continue to think about how to build self-reflection into my routine because in these moments of reflection, I am learning so much about what is driving me, what's holding me back, what excites me, what terrifies me. The slowing down allows me to speed up in a thoughtful, intentional and inspired way that positively impacts my people!

What would you say to someone considering the AWL experience?
I have been using the word "transformational" when I describe the AWL experience. I would encourage leaders to prioritize themselves for the good of others. Pausing one day per month for self-discovery, learning, exploration and growth not only will change your life but will improve how you show up to lead others. It may seem like a lot to shut down the phone for a day, but AWL will bring awareness to the power of this "pause" and your people (partner, family, co-workers) will notice your growth and strength as you work through the program!

I feel like I am fulfilling my purpose when... helping people discover and embrace the courage to become a better version of themselves.

My favorite way to spend an afternoon by myself is... walking on a Cape Cod beach… with my dogs.

The kind of work I’m most passionate about is... I love coaching individuals and teams.

To me, leadership is... showing up consistently to help people become better for the good of themselves and the good of the order.

Something that makes my life ridiculously fun is... listening and dancing to Dave Matthews at the Gorge over Labor Day Weekend!

The values/behaviors that are most important to me are... love, adventure, curious discovery, and caring.

How I would like to impact the world right now is... through sawubona––truly seeing people and meeting them where they are to help them on their journey.
