We asked Nancy a series of questions to get to know her better.
Here are her responses…
Describe the six months you spent in the Bloombase experience for Advanced Women Leaders.
I have experienced and led lots of leadership development trainings throughout my leadership career, and this was different. It transformed a lot about how I showed up inside and outside of work. As a participant in AWL, I had the opportunity to learn more about myself as a leader. I explored why I do the things I do, why my actions may or may not benefit me and how I might be more effective as a leader.
Describe the benefits of the AWL experience.
AWL is beneficial because you grow personally and develop deep friendships with other female leaders. These friendships happen because of the shared AWL experience. As a result, you become a better leader in your own organization and you keep growing together long after the 6 month experience ends.
Describe the benefits of being a part of the post AWL community.
The AWL community allows you to build relationships with women leaders beyond your own cohort. I have made connections and continued to grow my network easily, because we all share a common experience. Bloombase is very intentional about the value added connections and experiences we have as alumni and that has helped my learning journey continue.
What did you get out of the Executive Coaching sessions?
The executive coaching allowed me to address specific situations that were needing resolution. It was also a way for me to continue to make progress towards my vision for myself.
What would you say to someone else considering this experience?
Be prepared to understand and challenge your current ways of behaving, but know that you will grow - personally and professionally. Everything you put into this experience will come back tenfold, but you have to do the work.
What is the greatest ROI for this investment you made in yourself?
I have a much clearer vision of what I want to achieve in the next five years and I feel like I have new tools to help me achieve that vision and a community to support my journey to it.
