“The biggest benefit of being an Alumni has been the network to reach into. I love it when we can get together and refresh a topic or check in with one another.”

We asked Jamie a series of questions to get to know her better.
Here are her responses…
Describe the six months you spent in the Bloombase experience for Advanced Women Leaders.
The AWL experience was an opportunity to connect within our community with other women leaders navigating through their lives and careers. More than anything it gave connection to self and growth that could be applied at home or within a work-based community.
Describe the benefits of the AWL experience.
The foundation of our emotional intelligence, whether we want to admit it or not, is self. If we don’t understand our own thoughts and feelings and what triggers us, then we won’t be able to fully understand what others are saying to us. The AWL experience helps to focus the lens and offers ways to process the monkey mind that we all can have. It creates a safe space to grow in.
Describe the benefits of being a part of the post AWL community.
The biggest benefit of being an Alumni has been the network to reach into. I love it when we can get together and refresh a topic or check in with one another. It helps to bring that focus back to the growth that I want to continue to do.
What did you get out of the Executive Coaching sessions?
Honestly, I didn’t utilize the executive coaching sessions like I wanted. I took several sessions to sort through what I wanted to focus on and that was a missed opportunity. My advice to you is to go deep in those sessions from the get go.
What would you say to someone else considering this experience?
Utilize this experience to invest in you and grow a better you.
What is the greatest ROI for this investment you made in yourself?
Any chance you get to make a better version of yourself however you go about doing that is a great return on investment. Even if the change is small they add up. I want to do well but it is more important to me to do good.
I feel like I am fulfilling my purpose when I am… utilizing the gifts that I have been given. Thus, why it is so important to understand your gifts as you move through experiences like AWL.
To me, leadership is… the ability to take someone physically or emotionally on your journey to the destination that you are working to reach. As a leader you have to be able to adapt how you take someone there. For some I have to serve, for some I have to show, for some I need to listen, and for others I need to teach. Each is an important action of leading others.
Something that makes my life ridiculously fun is… my adventurous self. I love the adventures that are around us. Whether I am tandem hang gliding or hiking a summit, playing a game with my son or laughing at something “mom did,” or being uncomfortable in a new setting...all of these events give me a habit of appreciation for laughter and strength on days when the clouds have rolled in (because they do roll in and roll out).
